Del.icio.us put my Bookmarks to Shame
My favorite tool covered so far in Project Play is Delicious. Every time I used my bookmarks, I felt the pressing need to do something with this growing list of "sites I may or may not use in the future, but I don't want to lose track of." I love being access my Delicious list from any computer.
Death and Taxes Survey
It's not too late to be included in the survey! Just click the link in the upper left corner of this blog under"Death and Taxes Survey." It's quick and painless, unlike death for the majority of us will be (See Sherwin B. Nuland's How we Die). The comment feature of this blog has been enabled, so you may give feedback about the survey with that tool.

Social Tagging
User generated tags have the potential to give a truer picture of the most common tags people actually use when looking for information. Tags created by professionals or specialists aren't always commonly used. If libraries want to be inviting and useful for a wide cross-section of their community members, social tagging can help make resources easier to find for a greater number of people.
When one clicks on the link attached to "saved by xxx people," a combines tag list is called up for that link. This is weighted list showing the most common tags in the cloud format.
I am trying to get my del.icio.us link roll linked to this page. The title is there, but it is not yet linking. I will recheck the html code, and hopefully, have it working soon.

LibraryThing
My LibraryThing account features new titles at our library. I like the way it displays the cover art and just lists the title & author on my blog. People can just click on the title if they want to know more. This may be a good tool to use to highlight some of our new titles. Some of the other Project Play participants suggested that it would be a good way to keep track of titles one has read. This is a great idea for many of our patrons who are prolific readers!

Area Woman Excited about "The Onion's" RSS Feed
I took Joe Bonger's lead and tried Bloglines AND Google Reader. I like the layout and features of Google Reader best. Signing up for a newsreader and checking my feeds has been pretty straightforward. I was very pleased to see that "The Onion" provides an RSS Feed. However, I have not yet been successful in getting my "tagged"," shared", OR "starred" items onto my blog yet. I do not see where the HTML language is to put onto my blog edit page.

My Second Post
It's been over four hours since my last post. I noticed that no one has commented on it yet. Maybe it was a little dry. I went back and edited my profile thinking that my movie list might have scared some people off. I removed "Fame", but still, no bites. I noticed that my user profile has been viewed 22 times. I guess they were all me while I was trying out different images.
Well, until later.......ciao
